FAQ
Q What does Listeningtree offer?
Listeningtree site offers the archive for a two year curriculum of 208 activities (104 preschool and 104 schoolage) and each month, a new bonus preschool and schoolage activity. We also offer each month, a printable poster and talkabout. Listeningtree has also a Spanish version with Spanish weekly activities, the same bonus activities, posters and talkabouts, all with Spanish instructional videos.
There are three levels of accounts:
Bronze subscribers have the access of the entire archives: 104 preschool activities, 104 schoolage activities, the bonus games of the month and the talkabouts. Silver and Gold subscribers have the ability to assign parents of children on their caseload "mini" accounts. Silver provides 30 parent accounts with the materials in English OR Spanish. Gold subscribers have 50 parent accounts with the activities in BOTH languages.
Q Are these the same activities I?ve seen on the Listening Room?
A The preschool and schoolage curriculum is the same as the one that Dave Sindrey has allowed Advanced Bionics to share on the Listening Room (www.bionicear.com) for the past few years, free of charge. In that site the activities were only posted for one week at a time. Listeningtree offers full access to ALL of the weekly activities in the archives. There are also new bonus games each month and Spanish versions of the activities that are only available to subscribers at Listeningtree.
Q What is the difference between the three levels of accounts?
A Bronze account allows a therapist to access massive archives for both preschool and schoolage listening and language activities (104 preschool and 104 schoolage). This account is available in English or Spanish. For English accounts, a two year the full two year curriculum is available within a subscriber's account. The Spanish curriculum is archived as released until the 2 year curriculum is complete.
Silver users have the same features available to Bronze users, PLUS they are able to assign 30 parent accounts in English OR Spanish to the parents of children on their caseload. A Silver user with an English account can assign up to 30 English parent accounts. A Silver user with a Spanish account can assign up to 30 Spanish parent accounts. Parents receive a login password so they can have the access to the game of the week for preschool or schoolage and also to the bonus game of the month.
Gold accounts are for therapists who work with BOTH English and Spanish speaking families. A Gold user has access to activities at the preschool and schoolage level in both English and Spanish. There is a two year curriculum available in English. The Spanish archive is built as weekly games are released starting from our launch in May 2010.
Q How do the parents accounts work?
A Silver and Gold subscribers can assign parent accounts simply by entering the parent?s email and by specifying preschool or schoolage. The parent is then automatically notified by email and assigned their own login name and password. The subscriber's name will be at the top of their page when they login and each week they will have access to a different printable listening activity accompanied by a short instructional video. Parent accounts also have access to the bonus game of the month. The therapist who assigned the account can monitor the number of times that a parent has logged onto their account.
Q Is the site easy for parents to navigate and understand?
A We provide a short 2 to 4 minute video for each activity and an instruction sheet included with each printable pdf.
Q Can parents buy their own subscriptions?
A Bronze accounts may be useful for parents who are in need of ideas for language and listening activities for home. These activities are meant as supplement to treatment in language and listening with a trained professional and in no way is a substitute for.
Q How long is the loop? Do new games appear every week forever?
A There are 104 weeks of games at the preschool level and 104 weeks of games at the schoolage level, allowing us to post a new game of the week at each level for two years. A child, who has a home program lasting one year, will never see the same game twice. Bonus games of the month are always new and are added to the subscriber's archives as they appear.
Q What day are new games posted?
Bonus games at the preschool level and the schoolage level are posted the 1st of each month. As they are replaced, each game is added to a subscriber's library. The highlighted game of the week is posted on Friday for subscribers and on the following Monday for all parent accounts.
